A rare opportunity to visit all 3 islands with skipper George Shiel and the Golden Gate.
We will depart from Seahouses harbour at 10.15am on the 14th June, landing on Inner Farne and Staple Island, then visit Longstone for lunch. There will be a light buffet and wine (or tea and coffee!) available, and will allow plenty of time to explore the island and the lighthouse. We will return to harbour around 4.30pm.
The nesting season will be in full swing and the puffins will be starting to feed the chicks with sand eels. Seals will be plentiful and there is always the chance of seeing dolphins. Be sure to bring a hat- the terns will be dive bombing!
The Golden Gate is the only vessel licensed to land on Longstone, so this is very much a unique opportunity as the tides must be right to allow landings on all of the islands. No other boat can land on all 3 islands.
There is a landing fee imposed by the National Trust for Inner Farne and Staple island, but NT members may land for free. You must obtain a wristband from the NT office at the harbour on production of a NT membership card. The NT charge £27.50 per person but production of a membership card gives free access.
For paying members of the website, the cost of the trip is £30.00 per person, NOT including the landing fees. For non-subscribers, the cost is £40 per person. Under 16’s half price.
We will be checking everyone in at the Golden Gate kiosk at Seahouses harbour.
Please note that no dogs are allowed on this trip.
We are not asking for payment up front, as weather conditions may mean that we have to cancel for safety reasons, but in the past we have been let down by people not turning up. We still have to pay for the charter, which is heavily discounted for members, so please, if you book, be sure to turn up!
Subscribing members please visit here for the discounted booking
